candyfloss on a cold day

Bobble hats and candyfloss - not usually images associated with one another.

I think you'll find . . .

that's where the dog usually sits.

name that dance . . . if you can . . .

I'm not sure, but miss floral dress hasn't yet put on her black flats, which can be seen carelessly thrown across the floor.

still waiting . . .

. . . but possibly sitting on the other side of the hall, as the coat pegs weren't in the previous picture.
Those with an eye for detail may notice that today the young lady in the floral dress has white high heels on, yesterday black flats.  I think the photos are of the same party, but she took two pairs of shoes with her.

Sunday stamps II 8

For this week's theme of ships, I have a stamp issued by Egypt in 1975 to mark the re-opening of the Suez Canal on June 5.  It had been closed since 1967.

I'm linking with Sunday Stamps II hosted by Violet Sky at 'See it on a Postcard'.

Thanks for visiting.

door to a secret world . . .

I like to think that the doorway in the wall will lead the little girl (who actually may be the only one who can see it) to a secret world . . . kind of like a 1950's variation on Frances Hodgson Burnett's 'The Secret Garden'.

Sunday stamps II 7

For this week's theme of water, I have several covers with cancellations/slogans.
Firstly from 1971 a Maritime Mail cancel on an envelope addressed to the Metropolitan Water Board. Perhaps the sender went off to sea and then remembered an unpaid water rates bill. The airmail envelope just adds another unanswerable question to the mystery.

Next a selection of covers/cancels promoting Ports - Port of London, Dover, Manchester and Portsmouth and Southsea.

I'm linking with Sunday Stamps II hosted by Violet Sky at 'See it on a Postcard'.  Head on over there for more stamps and mail.
Thanks for visiting.

'Aunt Sylvia & Uncle Horace'

The bow tie might be the proof that this 'identified' Uncle Horace is indeed the same man who was in yesterday's picture.
The 'framing' within the picture is very similar to effects achieved in photoshop, my only concern is the shaping seems to suggest horns.

possibly . . .

'Uncle Horace', husband of Auntie Sylvia (seen on Saturday).
